The hotel was in a lovely old building with lots of character. The bedrooms were quite spacious, very clean, nicely furnished in muted colours and the bed was really comfortable. The bathroom ( with a shower over the bath ) was modern and clean. There is a lift, which is useful with suitcases, and the entrance to the hotel is secure with a 24 hr buzzer system. Breakfast was really delicious with lots of choices available and the hot cooked breakfast was to order ( so none of the congealed breakfast buffets you get in some hotels !!) . The staff were all very friendly and helpful . The very centre of Edinburgh is a 15 min walk but the 27 bus stop is near the hotel and will take you to the centre. All in all we had a very enjoyable stay and, if you don’t like the big modern hotels and want something with character but still extremely comfortable and offers quality amenities then this comes highly recommended .

The hotel was previously the maternity hospital where I was born. This was why we chose to stay here. When I told the reception staff this, they were kind enough to print me a booklet all about it's history . Really appreciated that. Staff were all friendly and welcoming. There was always someone on reception to speak to. The hotel was everything we were expecting, and it smells lovely, too. Good location to all the places we wanted to visit . Great amenities in the room. Coffee machine, bath robes, and a fridge stocked with welcome drinks and chocolate. The bed was super comfortable.. Radiators in the room made it easy to dry our clothes after we got caught in heavy rain. A fantastic 2 night stay. Would definitely recommend it.

Very convenient location, close to the City center, bus stop number five 2 minutes up. Very kind and polite staff. They helped solve the problem with returning my things that I forgot in another Glasgow hotel. Spacious room with windows and a comfortable bed, with heating that you can adjust yourself, clean and tidy, there is a coffee machine, kettle and everything you need to make coffee and tea, two bottles of sparkling and still water, 2 bottles of Pepsi, chocolate in the fridge! Very quiet, we were able to get a good night's sleep! Breakfasts were delicious and everything was freshly cooked to order! Thank you very much for the pleasant experience!

Great location 10 min walk from the centre , got my 20 min walk from Haymarket from airport shuttle bus easy to find with google maps. The room was smaller as I thought but according to time I spent in enough. The bathroom and bed were made every day, also the instant coffee was filled to have enough for all days, comfy bed with heating on. Very appreciated the power station for the USB for my phone as I forgot the UK adaptor. I had no breakfast, can´t tell, there´s a supermarket just couple of minutes away to buy some sandwiches for the early day tour.

The staff are wonderful, the manager Mr William, his daughter Zoe on reception and sometimes in the café and the tireless Mrs Karen who attended to us at breakfast is a sweet person. The quality of the breakfast is excellent. The room we stayed in was spacious, the bed was very large and comfortable and there were 2 tables, one for work and the other for meals. There was a fridge and 2 waters and 2 chocolates every day. In general, the hotel's staff, room and breakfast made a positive difference.
